Humboldt City Board meets in Special Session

 

The Humboldt City Board met in special session on Tuesday, June 21st, 2005.  The meeting was called to order by Chairman Allen Schmeichel at 5:05 p.m.  Trustees present were Theresa Muth and Larry Skari. 

 

The bids for the surplus property were opened.  A bid in the amount of $125.00 was submitted by Kira Schmeichel for the refrigerator and CD player.  A bid in the amount of $852.00 was submitted by Larry Schmeichel for the old Dump Truck.  A motion was made by Skari and seconded by Muth to award the property to Kira and Larry for the bid amounts submitted.  The motion carried with Skari and Muth voting yes and Schmeichel abstaining. 

 

The Catholic Church parking lot project was discussed.

 

A new cooler for the bar was discussed.  A quote in the mount of $2485.00 plus $50.00 for shipping was received by Triple A Refrigeration.  A motion was made by Schmeichel and seconded by Muth to purchase the cooler for the bar.  The motion carried.  The small cooler will be utilized at the Community Center for dances. 

 

The Chairman declared the meeting in executive session at 5:10 p.m.  to discuss the Municipal Bar. 

 

The meeting was reconvened at 5:15 p.m. 

 

The utility manager will be hiring a high school student to locate all of the water shut off’s and document them.  The wage will be between $7.00 and $7.50. 

 

With no further business, a motion was made by Muth and seconded by Schmeichel to adjourn the meeting at 5:20p.m.  The motion carried.
